What is SYNAPSIS™

The SYNAPSIS™ software for healthcare is a useful software working like a neural network and enables management of hospitals surgical assets as well as full control of all processes in the CSSD. This customized solution we have developed for a variety of environments to help gaining productivity, cut unnecessary costs, protect hospital staff and above all the patients. In addition with the modern modular architecture we can adjust and expand our platform to meet your specific requirements and expectations.

How SYNAPSIS™ works

The SYNAPSIS ™ uses workstations on which all your employee will do their activities. In other words, we use simple PC computers to register each step of workflow.  We mount the workstations in key places in the workflow of surgical sets. In the case of larger rooms we multiply them to improve the work of the staff. However our network we based on computers, but we also connect devices such as washers, sterilizers, heat sealers, incubators, environmental sensors, chemical dosing stations and many more.

Workflow optimalization of CSSD

The SYNAPSIS™ provides hospital staff with instant access to valuable features to improve the sterile supply workflow from CSSD throughout the entire hospital. In CSSD software guides technicians by leads, notes, prompts, pictures and videos to achieve an accurate and efficient preparation procedures. 

After few necessary steps, as a result we will get a digital proof that sets and instruments were properly completed, washed and sterilized. All assets are ready to stock or dispatch to their correct location. Employees of CSSD and OT can access sets and instruments details and availability.  Software provides accurate registration of assets before, during and after surgery. It interfaces with surgical scheduling systems to provide instant live updates of instrument availability for upcoming surgical procedures.

The SYNAPSIS™ interfaces with several Hospital Information Systems (HIS) and can provide information about instruments sterilization data or costs of full process. In addition, all the data we can connect with patient ID.

All activities we mentioned above system is registering in the database. This enables the possibility to generate any reports which our clients invent. Above all, reports documenting the course of sterilization processes and procedures, but also employee efficiency reports, release reports, machine load reports or the number of processes in relation to different sets.

The functionalities enabling the inventory and full control of the sets held are also invaluable. The reports enable the planning of instruments purchases and prevent from being taken outside the hospital.

Reports makes cost calculation possible. This feature is also highly appreciated. Periodical reports can be automatically send for accounting or CEO. Platform can also calculate  the real costs of running a CSSD and total cost of assets ownership.

Sets and instruments marking

SYNAPSIS is compatible with a full scope of marking technologies, such as barcodes, QR codes, RFID and on-instrument marking (laser or adhesive) for unique identification of instruments.

The technology we can use depends on the customer’s decision on how to track objects. It can consist of tracking sets, but also tracking individual instruments as well as the need to complete them as part of the virtual packaging of each set. 

One-instrument tracking increases the accuracy of the processes, but the marking of tools can affect their quality and life. Therefore, the final decision is made by the hospital authorities. However, switching the registration method can be implemented at any time.

Integration with equipment

The SYNAPSIS™ software for healthcare has the capacity to interface with leading manufacturers‘ equipment as well as 3rd party software solutions. The system acquires all process data provided by the machines. Above all, information about start/end of washing and sterilization and process key parameters. 

If the manufacturer allows such functionality, all this data can be acquired live. In the case of older machines, we are able to modify them so that they allow downloading data to external systems. In addition to washers, sterilizers and plasmas, we also integrate with sealings and test incubators. We are also a manufacturwer od dosing systems for the washers.

The SYNAPSIS™ software for healthcare installation

System installation usually takes 2 to 4 days depending on the size of the CSSD. The first stage is hardware mounting, the second is software installation, the last is training and than co-working with CSSD staff. In other words, it is fast and easy.
